1. Information We Collect and Why

1.1 Camera, Photos, and Files Access

The app may request access to your camera, photo library, and file storage to enable features such as:

• Scanning pages, documents, or ID cards
• Cropping, edge detection, and perspective correction
• Creating, editing, and exporting PDF files

These permissions are used only for core functionality and are not used to personally identify you. Files and scans remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to back them up or share them.

1.2 Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Document Processing

PDF Scanner includes an OCR (text recognition) feature to extract text from scanned documents.

• OCR may run locally on your device — in this case, the data never leaves your device.
• If you choose to use advanced cloud processing (optional), your document may be temporarily uploaded to a secure server for processing.

Important: If you scan sensitive information such as ID cards, passports, or other personal documents, please ensure you consent to their processing. Sensitive data is handled securely and only for the requested purpose.
